Short Story Idea
A short story idea (with conflict) that can be written in ten pages?
I’m having trouble coming up with a short story idea for my 4h fair, I wrote one story but I went over the ten page limit by three pages. so I’m looking for some new idea’s! more of a plot then an idea because it is the conflict that I am having issues coming up with. thanks! 
The story i already wrote cant really be shortend, if anything i’m gonna make it bigger 
The way to learn to write conflict is to create a likable character and give them a specific story goal, i.e. Sixteen year old Kelsey Jones wants to find out if her twin sister April really committed suicide. Now list at least a dozen things–including any antagonists and weaknesses the POV character has–that can keep them from that goal. Don’t pull any punches, make some of them dire. You should now have some ideas for scenes where the POV character has to overcome those obstacles to arrive at the climax. List them from bad to worse as the story’s conflict should worsen as the story progresses, saving the most dire one for right before the climax. Hope this helps.
